Doesn’t it just feel like all your problems are weighing you down?

Today, we have another inspirational post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog at www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's first video on YouTube

Doesn’t it just feel like all your problems are weighing you down?

Well the good news is this is just temporary. Although it feels like it will go on forever, I assure you it won’t.

In months, years, a decade you’ll be looking back and asking yourself why did you think that was so hard? Why did you let that stop you? And it’ll either be because things have toppled on top of that, and you have learnt to deal with it or all the issues of those days have disappeared.

And you’ll be glad you’ve been through it. Either because it’s taught you how to deal with problems for the future when they appear, or you’ll be so thankful that that was then and this is now. You will be better equipped to fight off a similar issue, there’s no way of stopping them coming though. It’s like when you have a cold or getting a vaccine, because your body has dealt with a cold before, hopefully your cells will be stronger and fight it off quicker than last time.

I know it isn’t easy to accept that one day it will be Ok. And right now it feels like the weight of the world is coming down on you, but it will get easier and lighter to carry. You’ve got to go through it, to get stronger. Just grit your teeth and do whatever needs to be done, because you will be so thankful for it later. You might not be able to see it now, but there will be a faint ray of light that will guide you through it. And if you can’t see it yet, you’ve just got to keep going until you do. It can be a long, hard road though. So I can only hope that your friends will stand by you and support you when you need it. And when you need space I hope they will give you some distance.

Grow into a stronger person

Grow into a stronger person

Today, we have another inspirational post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog at www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's first video on YouTube

When I come across roadblocks/setbacks/obstacles I know I have 3 options:

  • Give up
  • Give in
  • Give it everything I’ve got.

It would be easy to give up, but if I didn’t struggle on where would all my stories come from? Because what hurts so bad today could be made better tomorrow. You never know what could happen.

So don’t do something silly that you might regret later and/or would hurt your loved ones.

I admit in those hormonal teenage years I used to think about packing it all in, but I could never do it. And do you know why that was? It was because I couldn’t bear to see someone I cared about lonely. I still know this person and I don’t care for them in the same way as I did, but I’ll always remember how they stopped me doing something permanent based on a temporary feeling.

So keep believing that the sun will shine someday and just because it’s not right now doesn’t mean it won’t.

Just like a wish, just because you can’t see it right now doesn’t mean it’s not on the cusp of happening. Like hard work, just because you’re not in the place you want to be right now doesn’t mean it’s not coming. There are countless ways you could get to where you want to be through promotion or something like that. J

Just because you can’t see how far the rollercoaster that is your life has taken you, doesn’t mean you’re not going anywhere. And you only haven’t noticed because you’ve been focused on other things.

And don’t worry if your ride has stopped for a moment, you are either destined to plummet into the stars or propel into something that will make you into a stronger person.

Remember that is the only thing that comes of hurt, pain or wounds. You grow into a much stronger person.

We Are All Being Brave - Judgements

We Are All Being Brave - Judgements

Today, a new and inspirational post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog at www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's first video on YouTube

We are all being brave. We are all fighting our own battles. Whether physically visible or not, we have all thought about packing it in at one time or another. One quote I like to remember is ‘If you are lucky enough to be different, stay that way’. I think it is true, because everybody is offering something different in life.

Everyone has a different attitude, opinion, way of life etc. (the list is countless) so that is why I think it is a poor choice that we judge. Someone could just be having a really bad day and your comments could lower their self-esteem. Do your best not to do that to that person.

Everyone has issues (the list of issues they could have is endless). I was caught in a tight spot when someone that I know judged someone on the way that person was dressed, and wanted me to pass judgement. I think I mumbled ‘yeah’ or something because I felt it wasn’t my place to judge. That person could have had less than 24 hours to live or something.

We don’t know everything about everyone’s story so I try to not judge anybody before I meet them because I don’t think it’s fair. They could be the loveliest person ever but just because they are having a hard day you’ll never know. Maybe they’re waiting for someone to make them smile. They may have the most gorgeous smile but if you just keep walking you’ll never know.

We all have little bits we don’t like about ourselves, bits that we don’t like to amplify. And what if that private something that you don’t like about yourself, was so obvious that you couldn’t hide it? And what if everyone comments on that? Your self-esteem would surely plummet so remember this when you look to judge someone. How would you feel if that was you?

When you need to believe in you!

When you need to believe in you!

Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog at www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's first video on YouTube

There is always someone worse off than you, even if you think you’re the unluckiest person for a day, someone goes through their whole life as the ‘unluckiest.’

The same can be said for a black sheep.

You don’t want to be a black sheep all your life but you’re too afraid to go for it with someone, or talk to someone, get your voice heard etc. I know how you feel believe me I’ve been there. But I’m not afraid anymore. And d’you know why? Because I believe in myself.

It’s not something that just happens overnight. I do sometimes still have to persuade myself that I am worth it etc. because at the end of the day I am the only one who can catch myself when I fall, or stand up and say ‘I made that mistake,’ etc.

When you feel like you’re at your lowest ebb, just smile, shrug it off and say to yourself or out loud (sometimes it helps) ‘I am better than this,’ and prove that indeed you are.

No one knows the ins and outs of your life. No one can and no one should. Always remember that everyone is fighting their own battle, whether you can see it or not, so be kind. Everyone is being courageous in some way, so be supportive, smile and show that you care. Even the most ‘together’ person you know is fighting something that you have no idea about, so try not be too judgemental.

It’s sad that this generation has been raised to judge people. You’re not cool if you don’t have the latest phone, sad if you actually put pen to paper to write a letter (unless it’s your job) and things like that. I am old fashioned; I don’t have the latest phone and have only just discovered my favourites on youtube. And I am 21. I am part of this generation that’s obsessed with judging people. And I’m disappointed by it actually. It’s an unfortunate turn the human realm has taken though there are still gems out there who won’t judge you, at least not until they know you!'
