One Positive Thought Can Change Your Day

One Positive Thought Can Change Your Day

Today we have another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog at www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's first video on YouTube

How can anyone be sure they are seeing the same thing? I mean exactly the same. The light can shape things in different way and reflect back to us differently. Hang on, how do we even know the intensity of light that hits our eyes is the same as everybody else’s? We might see a bright light, while for others it’s duller. How do I know the air that I’m breathing today isn’t more toxic than the air yesterday? I watched a TED talk about what we find beautiful. It’s interesting because NO ONE IS THE SAME.

How can I ever know that reading this will inspire you to do something with your day? I can’t predict anything, and I can’t say that what worked for me will work for you. Because we’re all different. That is why we don’t like all the same stuff. The rest of my family for instance are crazy about sport, while they are quite talented in their field I focus more on music and books. I’m the odd one out of my family, but I love it. I’d much rather be reading or writing than watching men kick a ball about. I would say be yourself no matter what it entails: if it makes you the odd one out embrace and cherish that. I know I certainly do. Life is not about pleasing everyone; it’s about finding and pleasing yourself. We go through the maze of life to arrive somewhere we don’t know, but it’s all about our journey to get there. When you find something that you take pleasure in that will make your journey bearable. I don’t know what life is going to put me through tomorrow but I know that if I believe it will be ok it probably will be.

You’ve got to know that certain things will happen.Yes, bad times will come and there’s no stopping them but hopefully you have gained strength from your past experiences that will help when the bad decides to turn up at your door.  ‘Who you are is how you react when you’re faced with a crisis’ as Carrie Hope Fletcher has told us, this is when the true strength of your personality will peak. No one knows when a crisis will appear in anyone’s life, so it’s very important to treat everyone as you would like to be treated. Because no one knows what other people are going through, or why.

I have a campaign I am running for Make A Wish Foundation UK called ‘Smile For Strangers.’ While we may not be able to help them deal with whatever they are going through; we can send a smile and let them know that we care. My dad is very pessimistic at this new scheme I have devised; ‘You should be wary of strangers.’ But actually, I am going against him. Because a smile is a one second thing, you’ll probably never see them again and if it helps lift them out of a bad place; it’s done its job. The shop is linked here: http://734759.spreadshirt.co.uk/ and 100% of the money I make from this will go directly to Make A Wish Foundation UK. The other designs are my own and I hope you enjoy them. Buy a top to support my ‘Smile For Strangers’ campaign, come on we can all do it!

A Lakota Peyote Healing Song by Robbie Robertson

A Lakota Peyote Healing Song by Robbie Robertson YouTube is full of music that claims to be Native American from North America and usually it isn't. It may be quite beautiful music but it is not what it claims to be. And in my view it does not have the same power.  This is authentic, beautiful and powerful Singer, song writer and guitarist Robbie Robertson was born Jaime Robert Klegerman in 1943, in Toronto, Ontario. He was born to a Jewish father and a Mohawk mother and took his stepfather's last name after his mother remarried. He had his earliest exposure to music at Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation , Ontario where he spent summers with his mother's family. He is best known for his membership in The Band. Here is a translation of the words
