We Are All Being Brave - Judgements

We Are All Being Brave - Judgements Today, a new and inspirational post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube   We are all being brave. We are all fighting our own battles. Whether physically visible or not, we have all thought about packing it in at one time or another. One quote I like to remember is ‘If you are lucky enough to be different, stay that way’. I think it is true, because everybody is offering something different in life. Everyone has a different attitude, opinion, way of life etc. (the list is countless) so that is why I think it is a poor choice that we judge. Someone could just be having a really bad day and your comments could lower their self-esteem. Do your best not to do that to that person.  Everyone has issues (the list of issues they could have is endless). I was caug

When you need to believe in you!

When you need to believe in you! Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube   There is always someone worse off than you, even if you think you’re the unluckiest person for a day, someone goes through their whole life as the ‘unluckiest.’  The same can be said for a black sheep.  You don’t want to be a black sheep all your life but you’re too afraid to go for it with someone, or talk to someone, get your voice heard etc. I know how you feel believe me I’ve been there. But I’m not afraid anymore. And d’you know why? Because I believe in myself.  It’s not something that just happens overnight. I do sometimes still have to persuade myself that I am worth it etc. because at the end of the day I am the only one who can catch myself when I fall, or stand up and say ‘I made that

Keep Holding On - Behind The Clouds, The Sun Still Shines!

Keep Holding On - Behind The Clouds, The Sun Still Shines! Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube   It’s hard to be patient. But as one of my favourite quotes goes ‘’Things are happening behind the scenes, if not visible on the surface.”  So when you feel the rollercoaster of life has broken down for you, and you’re watching everyone else fly past you (or that’s what it feels like) know that it is just taking a breather to make things better in your life.  When there’s nothing going on in your life, just know that something is making its way to you.  When everything is going on in your life, you forget about the little things that troubled you. For instance, I entered a competition and the end date was the day I moved into university for my first year. Now I forgot all ab

You have to be able to make yourself happy.

You have to be able to make yourself happy.  Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube   A lot of exciting things have happened to me this week!  And good things might not come in hordes or bundles, they might be one at a time but that will make you appreciate them for what they are more at the time!  If you want good things to happen, understand that they won’t all happen at once! Life doesn’t work like that.  Only one good thing actually happened for me this week, but because of that I got to re-live one of my best memories on my blog! So I made it into ‘a lot of things’.  And that’s what you have to do sometimes. Y ou have to be able to make yourself happy.  When there’s not much going on, you need to be able to make yourself smile. Find a book you can lose yourself in or a

e-Happiness 2 By Stephanie Carfrae

e-Happiness 2 By Stephanie Carfrae Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube   I don’t have a magic wand to whisk away all of your problems.  Heck if I did, I definitely wouldn't be in this predicament.  But I do have the power of words, which in the words of Dumbledore, are the most inexhaustible source of magic, both capable of inflicting injury and remedying it!  Celebrities are admirable because they are actors, dress in a particular way or are singers.  The people we regard as strong are people who act as though everything is OK, even and perhaps especially, when the world is falling down on them.  Singers are breaking the mould into acting nowadays, whether it’s just in music videos or like Jennifer Lopez, acting is where they made their name. And it seems e

You Are Amazing By Stephanie Carfrae

You Are Amazing By Stephanie Carfrae Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube   ‘I think you’re amazing,’ someone says to someone else, but it doesn’t matter who, because they’re all amazing really. People are amazing.’ An insightful quotation from David Nicholls in his amazing book One Day. And it’s so true.  Whether your wings are still forming, you’re still metamorphosing or your wings are fledging, or you’ve already taken flight, YOU ARE amazing.  Always believe that. Even when the world seems to have turned its back on you, there is a star somewhere shining for you. Always have the confidence to believe that. Because YOU ARE worth it.  Anybody who tells you that you aren’t are merely jealous because they want to be who you are, or they are pessimists.  When you know

My Belief By Stephanie Carfrae

My Belief By Stephanie Carfrae Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube   When I find myself facing a task I don’t like or that I think will take a long time if I get involved.  I just imagine myself not being able to do that particular thing ever again. It helps me stop putting things off.   Having infinity to get things done is a nice idea but that’s all it can ever be because time is so precious. Life is unpredictable at the best of times.  After I’ve had a good time at an occasion, I just use that as inspiration to do what I need to.  Life is an unpredictable waiting game.  You never know what is coming next. Which is why it can be exciting.  When you’re going through a really hard time, it seems it will never improve. But there is always a ray of light somewhere. I

Making the tea. When you feel the fear!

Making the tea. When you feel the fear! Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube    You are arrested by your own fears.  You are the only one stopping you. "Because I might get laughed at!" "Because I might get it wrong!" Sound familiar?  If you never try, you’ll never know. You could be the best.  But a reluctance to face what you could be great at is, of course, a holdback.  If you’re strong enough to not want regrets, you need to let go of your fears. Though people may laugh at the start, when it becomes your norm, people who appreciate you will laugh at them!  Just because someone doesn’t believe in something, it doesn’t mean it’s wrong for you.  My parents are very protective of me and won’t even let me make a cup of tea! Crazy I know: they are on

Don't regret

Don't regret Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube    'I don’t regret anything I have done or anyone I met. There was a reason for every one – either they’re long lasting friends or they’re to teach me about distance or to show me that holding onto something isn’t worth it. I only regret the time I wasted not making the most of every moment – when, at uni, I used to stay in every night – not making anything happen when I could have. You never know what could happen. Don’t waste it. You only get one chance. So go be free. No one has the right to tell you how to live. I know the future may appear dismal right now, but I promise somewhere there is a star waiting to shine above you. In life, there are 3 things you need: A wishbone; A backbone; A funny

You don’t need to be perfect!

You don’t need to be perfect! Here is another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog  at   www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk   and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on  YouTube    I never want to be perfect. Perfectionism is over-rated. You don’t need to be perfect. You’re a perfect version of you. We are not made to be perfect. We make mistakes and learn different lessons from the same things. That is what being human is all about. Sure, you can think someone looks perfect or has the perfect lifestyle, but there will be an untold story lying in the midst of this so-called ‘perfection’. As Ollin ( http://ollinmorales.com/ ) has pointed out, the perfection game is rigged and will stop us from getting there; he uses the analogy of a casino in Las Vegas to make his point. It’s not your fault that you can’t get there. As I claim, you are perfect at being you, there’s not another you who can

One Positive Thought Can Change Your Day

One Positive Thought Can Change Your Day Today we have another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog at  www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk  and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's  first video on YouTube    How can anyone be sure they are seeing the same thing? I mean exactly the same. The light can shape things in different way and reflect back to us differently. Hang on, how do we even know the intensity of light that hits our eyes is the same as everybody else’s? We might see a bright light, while for others it’s duller. How do I know the air that I’m breathing today isn’t more toxic than the air yesterday? I watched a TED talk about what we find beautiful. It’s interesting because NO ONE IS THE SAME.  How can I ever know that reading this will inspire you to do something with your day? I can’t predict anything, and I can’t say that what worked for me will work for you. Because we’re all dif

You are worth so much more than you will ever know.

You are worth so much more than you will ever know. Today we have another post from contributor, Stephanie Carfrae. She is a Creative Writing Graduate; you can find her own blog at  www.stephcarfrae.blogspot.co.uk  and I think you will be inspired by Stephanie's first video on YouTube   Hard to believe isn’t it? It takes time, but if you believe in it enough it can change your day, or indeed your life. I used to think after all I had been through in my life, that I’d be in light at the end of the tunnel soon. But I’ve come to realise that I’ve got to keep clawing my way to get closer to the light for myself. Because I really deserve this. This is a key belief to have, to know you deserve it. Because of self-esteem issues it can seem like you’re not worthy of anything at times. But you are. You are worth so much more than you will ever know. And you too, deserve to see the light with the same velocity that I do. Although I may have been through more during my life up

The Resilient Mindset – don’t let a fixed mindset defeat you.

" Don’t change – stay right where you are"! Nobody said change was easy.  Change is hard It is uncomfortable and risky.  That is why most of us don’t change until change is forced on us.  We don’t change; even when making a change could make a huge and positive difference for us and those about us.  Most of us have a mindset that favours staying put right where we are – a “fixed” mindset. And fixed mindsets lack resilience.  Standing still and staying where we are, can present far more danger and risk in the long term than making a change. Changing that mindset So how do you develop a resilient mindset? You need to learn to challenge your own thinking.  Your fixed mindset will chatter away in your head, if you let it.   It will fill your head with negativity and erode your confidence.  That nasty fixed mindset will tell you that even if you wanted to change, you can’t do it!   You’re not bright enough! You're not strong enough!  You don’t hav
